ServantCARE is an evangelical cross-denominational Christian ministry committed to serving those very people, missionaries, pastors, and those in ministry. We do not supplant the support provided by mission agencies or ministries, but rather seek to enhance that care by providing additional, as well as supplemental services. Almost every mission agency cares deeply for its personnel, and provides training, encouragement, and support for them. Often, most of the contact comes while they are home. A few receive on-field visits. We seek to care for the whole person, providing for their unique needs. Ministry families come to us from all areas of the world, some needing quiet rest, some needing healing from wounds of conflict and persecution, others simply needing to be heard, understood and supported in their time of trials. Whatever the needs, we seek to always be instruments of refreshment and restoration.
"True spiritual leadership refers to people who are so deeply in love with Jesus that they are ready to follow Him wherever He guides them, always trusting that with Him, they will find life and find it abundantly."
The Apostle John commended those who ministered to the itinerant ministers in his day, and we should certainly do no less for today’s missionaries.
Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers; and they bear witness to your love before the church; and you will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. For they went out for the sake of the Name, accepting nothing from the Gentiles. Therefore we ought to support such men, that we may be fellow workers with the truth.
Several years ago when God called us out of “market place ministry” we began asking Him where we were going. He was silent until one day the question was asked, “Could you define for us a little of what it is you want us to do?” The response was a reminder of a key ring with a little box hanging from it. The lid could be lifted and a voice inside cried “Help!” Lifting it again you heard, “Is there anybody out there?” Lifting it the third time you heard, “Will somebody please let me out of here?” God then said very clearly, “There are millions of Christians in boxes just like that and I want you to let them out.” Thus began our days of listening how He wanted us to do that and ultimately it became abundantly clear that ServantCARE was the way. Thus, our logo designed by Greg Lee of His Everlasting Love Prevails (H.E.L.P.).
The S indicates how frazzled God’s servants can become, while the box indicates the condition in which many servants find themselves. There are a multitude of reasons people find themselves boxed in. Often it’s because the fit is not right, or perhaps God is trying to get their attention. Sometimes the frazzled condition arises as they begin to break out of the box. Other times they may find themselves boxed in when they have been treated unjustly and are deeply hurt. Psalm 34: 18 says, “The Lord is near the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” The reasons for being frazzled or in a box are as numerous as there are people. As we sit and listen and pray we want to help the person come to a point of wholeness. On rare occasions there is sin. God always has redemptive purposes - even when sin is involved. Hebrews 4:5 reminds us, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” James 2:13 also reminds us that “...mercy triumphs over judgment.” He is our redeemer and healer. Notice how things smooth out as there is movement toward the Father’s loving heart and the cross. Our desire through love, caring, listening, praying, personal ministry, meeting practical needs, and connecting is to point them to the Father’s heart – on the field if necessary. WE CARE!
Thank you for people like you who stand with us in time of crisis. You guys are a blessing to people in ministry and God's Kingdom...Thank you for all the care you have for us.
Thank you for your effort on our behalf. This is our first term on the field which means this is our first home assignment. It is a little over-whelming, but finding organizations like yours has been a great encouragement. Please know that your work is a blessing and makes a difference.
I LOVE this prayer network. This is the "MIRACLE PRAYER NETWORK". God is doing such amazing things in the lives of people. My sister asked me "please thank them for their prayers." She was especially moved by the scripture that came from one intercessor.
Thank you for providing your service and wonderful web site! What a blessing to those of us serving overseas.
I can not describe to you how awesome our time was with the missionaries. We connected immediately, I learned so much. I hung on their every word about Israel and the Hebrew language and all of the insight they have into the Word because of their understanding of the Hebrew culture, etc. We so enjoyed them. We were blessed immensely. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of something much larger than we can even know.
I can't tell you what a blessing it is to read your prayer logs. When you insert little phrases of prayer, it teaches me and expands my faith more than I could ever express in words. As I was praying for the chain I came across the request for my daughter and had a revelation. She is immeasurably better. Since I spoke with you on the phone when I gave the request, she has been a viable member of our household. She usually rises before noon and stays up til 9 or 10 PM. It is a miracle to see the change. Thanks for being so very faithful and so full of faith. We are all traveling to see a neurologist. My daily prayer is that God will severe the root cause of all of the manifestations of infirmity. Thanks for being God's hand and feet across the miles.
The ServantCARE prayer letter had a lot of heavy needs. I prayer for them as I read through it. Then I saw my son’s name and how you were praying for him. We seem like such a minor need, but THANK YOU so much. It always lightens my load when you all are praying.
You have been so faithful to pray for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your ministry probably goes overlooked by most, but it is not overlooked by the King or people like me. May you reap 100 fold; may His presence flood your heart; may your days be filled with His glory and may green pastures and still waters refresh your soul all the days of your life.
Thank you so much again for going above and beyond the call of duty and helping us out – God’s continued blessing on you and your ministry!
I truly appreciate how quickly you went to work on finding accommodations for my family and I. Thank you for serving us. May Jesus increase His blessings on you and ServantCare. I know we have been blessed already by what you have done for us!
It was a tuff’ year, one of those years that we think of giving up more than once, but as soon as we decided to commit to stay in the field God opened the heavens for us. The ministry God uses you in have played a big role over the past 6 years, standing in the gap for miracle on miracle on miracle. Through persecution, financial crisis and sickness God has always came through. THANK YOU TO YOU AND YOUR GROUP OF WARRIORS for being part of our call to preach Jesus to the nations.
For those of us out on the field Father, I thank you that there is this ministry that serves as a lighthouse in a port where we can land for safety and direction.
We are so thankful to the Lord for bringing you into our lives! God always sends the right people at the right time when we need His mercy and grace. Thank you so much for giving ear to our very personal problems which many of our very close friends don't even know about. And most importantly thank you for praying for us.
Thank you for the ministry that you are providing for missionaries. I really never knew that folks had these sorts of ministries until recently; but as a missionary, I can tell you it's deeply touching that you would reach out to people who have been on the field.
Thank you for connecting us with _____ and the ______family!! Our family had an amazing time praying, playing games, hiking, & laughing together. It is totally what we needed at this time during our preparation for the Philippines. Words cannot describe the impact you have made in our family by connecting us with all these amazing families. We want to let you know that your ministry has changed our lives. My wife loves deputation & actually "enjoys" being homeless because of the many homes and families you put us in contact with.
