What qualifies someone to be a ServantCARE Guest?

ServantCARE Hospitality Homes are for pastors, missionaries, and ministry leaders. Those in vocational Christian ministry who align with our Statement of Beliefs may make housing requests.


How to Apply to become a Guest with Servant Care

Here’s how our housing request process works:

When you’re ready to plan housing for your trip, please complete these steps in order:

  1. Log in to your account and submit a housing request:
    https://servantcare.com/login
  2. Pay the one-time $25 application fee. (You’ll receive the payment link after submitting your housing request.)
  3. Your pastoral reference will be contacted, and the referral must be received before we can confirm your request.

Key things to know:

  • Process. Submitting a housing request does not guarantee a booking. After you submit, we check availability with the host home before confirming.
  • Timing matters. Last-minute requests have a lower approval rate. We recommend submitting your request several weeks in advance of your trip whenever possible.
  • Response time. Our goal is to have an answer to every booking request within 10 days from the time you complete your request.
  • Vetting and alignment. We joyfully serve Protestant vocational missionaries and ministers and review each initial application for alignment with our Statement of Beliefs. If any discrepancies are found, we may need to decline your request to use the ServantCARE ministry.

How do I make a housing request?

  • Select the Hospitality Homes tab. Search for the location you desire on the map or search by using the filter. This will take you to more details about each home.
  • Enter the dates you would like to request, then select 'Request Booking'.
  • You will be prompted to Sign In (if you have not already done so).
    • NOTE: If you have not yet made an account with us, select 'Don't have an account? Sign up.' and complete the registration form. Once directed back to the home of your choice, you may complete the booking request. However, your credentials will need to be approved by our team before we will submit the request to the Host Home.
  • Enter the requested information under "Personal Details", then click "Submit Booking Request."
  • Our Housing Coordinators will then reach out to the Host Home with your requested dates.
    • NOTE: Requesting the booking does not guarantee a confirmed reservation.
  • If the Host Home is able to confirm your requested dates, you will receive two emails with links. One is to pay the reservation fees. The Second is to complete the forms. Once the fees have been paid and the forms have been signed, your booking will be complete.
  • We will connect you to the host and email the information you need for your reservation, including the address and contact information for the host home.
  • It is then your responsibility to reach out and contact the host for arrival time, etc.

What qualifies these homes as ServantCARE Hospitality Homes?

Each Hospitality Home has been vetted through a referral and a personal visit by a ServantCARE staff member. They have been deemed a “worthy home” according to Matthew 10. The hosts of these homes desire to use their properties to bless the servants of the Lord.


Can I request multiple locations?

Yes, you can still request multiple locations. You will do this by making a request for each home. If you are making reservation requests that are continuous dates, you will only pay for one $25 Application Fee. You will not be billed the Application Fee for the consecutive requests.

What if I don’t see the location where I need to stay?

If you do not see a location where you need to stay, most likely we do not have a Hospitality Home there. BUT, we may have someone in that area who is willing to host but is not listed on the website, so please contact us to ask! We do have a list of homes/places not on the website willing to host that we can connect with if it is in the location you are needing.

What is your refund policy?

If it is necessary for you to cancel a confirmed reservation more than 30 days before the reservation date, we will refund any nightly fee paid. For any cancellation made within 30 days of the reservation date, we will refund 50% of the nightly fee paid. The $25 Application Fee that was paid is nonrefundable.


What if my plans change after I request my reservation?

If your plans change after you make your reservation, please contact us to let us know. We understand that plans change, especially in ministry. We can make adjustments to reservations on our end. Simply email us at [email protected] or the Housing Coordinator who is in touch with you, and we will be happy to make those changes.


Can I return to a home I’ve stayed at before?

If you desire to return to a ServantCARE home you have stayed in before, please do so through ServantCARE. The Guest Agreement covenants that a Host will not be contacted directly for a subsequent visit without going through ServantCARE.


Can I bring my pet?

Pets are not allowed at ServantCARE Hospitality Homes. Some of our hosted homes do have pets of their own, but hosts will not be asked to make accommodations for guests’ pets.


Fees Structure

There is no membership fee. There is no fee to create an account.

First Time Guests
$25 trip-fee, then $15/night + $14 safeguard fee (per reservation)

Returning Guests
$15/night + $14 safeguard fee (per reservation)


Why are some homes different prices?

ServantCARE’s base payment is $15 per night made to ServantCARE to further the ministry. Some hosts have additional costs that need to be covered for their property. Some of them are also listed on other booking sites at a higher rate. They desire to use their home for ministry as well and offer it to ServantCARE guests at a reduced price. Other homes have a cleaning fee they have to cover. ServantCARE desires to be a blessing to the host and the guest, not a burden. So, some homes you may stay at do have additional fees. Please honor those.


What is the ServantCARE Safeguard? 

ServantCARE’s aim has always been to keep costs as low as possible for our Guests. As we continue to expand our housing network, the question of risk management continues to arise from new potential hosts, especially for unhosted homes. After much prayer and discussion on how to navigate this, we've decided to add a risk management platform called the ServantCARE Safeguard to each booking. Starting with reservations made after January 28, 2025, an additional $14 fee will be added to each booking for most of our homes. The fee will remain a flat fee regardless of the length of stay.

ServantCARE recognizes the guests we serve are in no way the malicious type, nor are they reckless. There are times, however, when accidents happen. And when they do, we want to provide a solution to help cover any associated repair costs so there is no added financial burden for hosts.


What if multiple ministry couples want to stay together at the same Hospitality Home?

Multiple ministry couples can stay together at the same Hospitality Home for the desired time. To do so, please list all of the guests on the reservation request. At the bottom of the request form, in the ‘Comments’ section, please list the email addresses of the separate family representatives. Each family will need to be a registered guest with a referral letter and will need to complete the Guest Release and Guest Agreement before the reservation can be confirmed.
